Under the general direction of a Supervising Special Investigator I, the Investigator will conduct independent field investigations; work as part of a team; or act as a lead on other investigators when assigned. As a Peace Officer under the California Penal Code, Section 830.3(d), detect and/or verify and enforce suspected violations of the California Horse Racing Board (CHRB) rules, regulations, and laws, as well as other related laws.
Applicants must have successfully completed a P.O.S.T. Peace Officer Basic Training Academy or Specialized Investigators’ Basic Academy. The applicant’s status with P.O.S.T. must be current.
Applicants must meet California Peace Officer hiring, physical, psychological, and background standards before a hire can be made.

The Board's Enforcement Division is a POST certified law enforcement entity pursuant to Penal Code Section 830.3(d) and is charged with enforcing suspected violations of the California Horse Racing Board rules, regulations, and laws.
