The Department responds to over 90,000 calls for service annually. The Chief is supported by an Assistant Chief and six commanders.
The ideal candidate will be an outstanding leader in the profession who is committed to progressive and innovative community policing principles and practices. This compassionate leader and mentor will also be expected to be an exceptional problem solver and communicator. Three years of experience at the rank of Chief or Assistant/Deputy Chief or equivalent and a bachelor’s degree is required. A master’s degree and/or completion of formal leadership training is preferred.
