The Sausalito Police Department strives to provide law enforcement services that focus on “quality of life” issues within our community. We are looking for quality applicants who have the desire to become part of our police department family and embrace the partnerships we have built with the citizens we serve. It is our department’s priority to be involved in the community, through activities such as community events, involvement in school programs, and neighborhood meetings.
Officers are rotated through long and short-term specialty assignments including investigations, boat patrol, bicycle patrol, motorcycle patrol, field training officer, multi-jurisdictional SRT and CNT teams and perishable skills instructors. Officers are assigned to rotational shifts of 3/12 - 4/12.
Compensation: CalPERS: 2.7% @ 57 plan / Classic Members 2% @ 50, $826.80 annual uniform allowance, Cafeteria Plan (includes health, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability), Voluntary Deferred Compensation plans available, 120 hours annual vacation, increases after 5 years of service, 96 hours annual sick leave with unlimited accrual, 84 hours of holiday in-lieu payments, Educational and specialty assignment incentives, Longevity Incentives and shift differential pay, Tuition reimbursement up to $2000 per fiscal year, $39/month gym reimbursement
